There are a variety of groups catering for faith exploration, support and making social connections. It's easy to connect with and get involved in any of these groups so just reach out if you have any questions.

    Out and About Group

    Once a month or so we get together to head out for an enjoyable social visit somewhere local - it may be morning tea at a parishioner's home, a trip to the movies or a BBQ in the local domain. Help can be available if transport is required and we do our best to keep any costs manageable.

    Home Group

    We spend time reading and discussing a topical Christian book or video before finishing with a cuppa.

    Walking Group

    This is a great way to get to know new people, form friendship and strengthen our community. It is not about how far we walk but also the conversations and fun we have as we enjoy each other's company.

    Prayer Group

    A welcoming prayer group for those who wish to gather for 30 mins to spend time in prayer. This may include personal prayer, prayers for others, prayers for the regeneration of our parish and the wider church. What is shared in this time remains confidential.

    Coffee n Kids (Music & Movement)

    Pre-schoolers and their parents/caregivers are invited to join in Plunket's friendly and relaxed Music and Movement sessions. In partnership with the Parish, a cuppa is offered following each session and there is an opportunity for children to play and the adults in their lives to get to know one another in a supportive environment.

    Rest Home Outreach Group

    St Peter's is one of five local churches who support the spiritual care of residents at Wallingford Rest Home through pastoral contact and taking their turn leading worship along with the Presbyterian Support Services Hospital Chaplain. Ecumenical in nature, the services are held weekly and members of the community are also invited to come.

    WHEN: 11am on Thursdays, each of the churches in Temuka are rostered on and take turns at leading the services.

    Grief Cafe

    A relaxed, supportive and confidential space where people can share their grief journeys in a safe and encouraging environment. Hosted by experienced grief facilitators, these sessions are open to all experiencing different types of loss; death, separation, moving location, estrangement etc. Come and join in a cuppa and some food.
